My name is Kevin Wabaunsee. I’m a former newspaper reporter and a current editor, communications director, and speculative fiction writer.

Quite a while ago, I wrote for newspapers on the health and medical beat. My writing was published in the newspapers across the country, including the Los Angeles Times, the Houston Chronicle and the Baltimore Sun.

I’ve since left journalism for a career in research communications. I’ve worked for research universities for more than a decade, and I’m currently an editor and communications director at a large medical school.

I write science fiction and fantasy: everything from alien planets to strange biology, and the impossible places they come from. I also have a soft spot for hardboiled detectives and tales of small-town corruption.

This site is my home base for my writing, commentary, and blogging.
